Properties: B-180 is a vinyl silane monomer for cross-linking vinyl and acrylic emulsion. It can be used in OEM products and architectural coatings. It is easy to copolymerized into the main chain of vinyl and acrylic emulsion, and a rigid and highly cross linked coating can be obtained after curing by using the formula with recommended catalyst. The unique structure of the silane makes it very stable in the water-based system, and will not react or cross-linking before the coating agglomerates. The formulation of the water-based coating containing b-180 remains stable and effective after one year of aging.
Main functions:
Generally, the B-180 of 0.2~15% in the main chain of emulsion resin can significantly improve the properties of cured coatings, mainly including solvent resistance, water resistance, scratch resistance, wet and dry adhesion, film hardness and tensile strength.
Compared with 171 and 570
1. Advantages of adding time: the adding time of 171 and 570 is generally about 10% of the monomer left in the later stage of the reaction, otherwise it is easy to hang on the wall; however, b-180 has no such requirement, and can be added at any stage of the reaction;
2. Advantages of reaction temperature: the reaction temperature of 171 and 570 is generally controlled at 75-80 ℃, and the corresponding initiator should be used, otherwise the reaction will not be sufficient, or serious wall hanging phenomenon will occur; while the reaction temperature of b-180 can be increased to 85-90 ℃, which is more conducive to monomer polymerization;
3. Advantages of addition amount: 171 and 570 should not be added too much, otherwise it will hydrolyze and self polymerize, which is difficult to control. The maximum addition amount is only a few percent, while b-180 can be added from 0.1 to 16%.
4. Advantages in performance: it is better than 171 and 570 with the same amount of water resistance, and the larger the amount of water, the more obvious the advantages.
